I am a Control & Instrumentation Technologist with over 5 years of experience in the field. I specialize in carrying out planned and unplanned maintenance of various instruments for industrial processes. My expertise includes Basic PLC programming, Basic SCADA systems, Troubleshooting, and Road/Conveyor scale calibration. Artisan Instrumentation
CNMC Luanshya Copper Mine CLM

June 2021

Currently working as an Instruments Artisan at CLM where my key

Responsibilities are: -

  • Routine Checks and calibration on instruments such as Temperature sensors and conveyor belt scales

  • Routine Maintenance jobs on the mine winders, Baluba 1 Rock, Baluba 1 Service, and Baluba 2 Service winders.

  • Carry out both planned and unplanned maintenance of various instruments covering the underground mine to the cable belt drive house plant

  • Troubleshooting on fault instruments in the plant ensuring that they are repaired timely to ensure plant uptime targets are achieved.

  • Ensuring that the cable belt conveyor is running smoothly to enhance transportation of the copper ore from the mine to the concentrator plant.

  • Ensuring that the motors and pumps temperature monitoring system is running smoothly to enhance dewatering on the underground mine

  • Carry out monthly conveyor belt scale calibration as well as annual calibration for the road weighbridge scale.

Worked as a management information systems executive (MIS) at Ison BPO Zambia Limited where my key responsibilities were: -

  • Monitor/collect data for monthly MIS

  • Interact actively with agents at an operational level.

  • Generate reports as per requirement from the senior management

  • Generate reports using operational tools.

  • Forecast, plan, and schedule manpower.

  • Tracks and analyzes call arrival patterns.

  • Initiate any new project and out-of-the-box thinking.

  • Routine (daily) checks and calibrations of various process control instruments such as temperature, level, and flow sensors.

  • Carry out both planned and unplanned maintenance of various instruments covering the whole plant from the receiving and crushing plant, processing plant, sugar refinery, and power plant.

  • Servicing different types of instruments to ensure a full operational life cycle and minimize process drift. 

  • Troubleshooting on fault instruments in the plant ensuring that they are repaired timely to ensure plant uptime targets are achieved.

  • Gained basic knowledge of process control with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), and supervisory control and data acquisition.
